$115 Million and Counting!

The Clean Tech Open is extremely pleased to announce that our 83 Alumni companies from 2006 and 2007 have raised a combined total of $115 million in funding, grants and awards! The $100M mark was passed due to the successful $30 million Series B round raised by GreenVolts, the 2006 Renewables Winner and 2007 Alumni Award Winner.

GreenVolts focuses on concentrating photovoltaic (CPV) technology and will use the funding to continue company growth, enhance R&D, and continue development of the GV1 project, the world's largest non-silicon CPV power plant.

The funding round comes from Oak Investment Partners, a firm that invests in high-growth opportunities in clean tech, among other aspects of their portfolio.

“We will soon be generating energy from the sun at what will be the world’s largest non-silicon CPV power plant,” said Bob Cart, founder and CEO of GreenVolts. “Having a partner like Oak that shares our vision for CPV is a great asset as we make the long-term decisions necessary to meet existing demand while continuing to innovate for the future.”
